About Pyth Network
Pyth takes a different approach to oracles from Chainlink: rather than paying node operators to fetch prices, it gets them first-hand from the trading firms and exchanges that produce them. Prices are pulled on demand by the application that needs them rather than pushed continuously on-chain, which cuts the cost of keeping many feeds fresh. Publishers stake PYTH against the accuracy of their own data and can be slashed for feeding bad prices, so the token secures the feed rather than just voting on it.
Pulling a price update costs a small fee on the destination chain, paid by the application β end users generally never see it.
PYTH had a very large cliff unlock in its first years and has traded more on that schedule than on oracle adoption.

Frequently asked questions
οΌHow many PYTH are there?
7.88 billion PYTH were in circulation as of 5 August 2026, against a maximum of 10 billion β so 78.8% of everything that will ever exist has already been issued, leaving 2.13 billion still to come. The remaining 21.3% still has to reach the market at some point, which is a slow headwind rather than an event.
οΌCan I stake PYTH, and what does it pay?
Yes. Stake PYTH to a publisher through Oracle Integrity Staking; you share their rewards and their penalties. Rewards run at variable, and carries genuine slashing risk rather than just lockup risk, and the calculator on this page is prefilled with 5% so you can change it to whatever your validator or platform actually quotes. Stake changes take effect at epoch boundaries, so both staking and unstaking wait for the next epoch. Staking is native to the protocol here, so you are not relying on a third party's wrapper.
οΌWhich PYTH calculator should I use?
There are 6 on this page and they answer different questions. Start from what you are actually asking: what a past purchase would be worth now, what a position is worth today, where a leveraged position gets liquidated, or what regular buying would have produced. Each opens with the live PYTH price already filled in, and every calculation runs in your browser β nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
οΌWhere does the PYTH price on this page come from?
Live from CoinGecko when you press the price button, with the PYTHUSDT pair on Binance as a fallback if that request fails. The request happens in your browser and carries nothing about you; if both fail the calculator keeps working with whatever figure you type in.
