About Uniswap
Uniswap is the automated market maker most of DeFi is measured against, and UNI is its governance token β distributed in September 2020 in the airdrop that set the template for the rest of the industry. UNI holds no claim on trading fees by default; the long-running "fee switch" debate is about whether governance turns that on. Roughly 60% of the billion-token supply is circulating, with the remainder vesting to the treasury and team.
UNI lives mainly on Ethereum, so moving it costs Ethereum gas; the protocol itself is deployed across several layer 2s where swaps are far cheaper.
UNI is a high-beta proxy for DeFi sentiment and has repriced hard on governance votes about the fee switch.

Frequently asked questions
οΌHow many UNI are there?
624.8 million UNI were in circulation as of 5 August 2026, against a maximum of 1 billion β so 62.5% of everything that will ever exist has already been issued, leaving 375.2 million still to come. That is a large share still to arrive, and it is worth knowing on what schedule before treating the current price as the settled one.
οΌCan I stake UNI?
None β UNI can be delegated for voting, without rewards. That is why there is no UNI staking calculator here: the tool reports rewards in units of the coin you staked, so it only covers networks that pay in that same asset. Publishing a page where the dollar figure was right and the unit was wrong would be worse than leaving it out.
οΌWhich UNI calculator should I use?
There are 5 on this page and they answer different questions. Start from what you are actually asking: what a past purchase would be worth now, what a position is worth today, where a leveraged position gets liquidated, or what regular buying would have produced. Each opens with the live UNI price already filled in, and every calculation runs in your browser β nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
οΌWhere does the UNI price on this page come from?
Live from CoinGecko when you press the price button, with the UNIUSDT pair on Binance as a fallback if that request fails. The request happens in your browser and carries nothing about you; if both fail the calculator keeps working with whatever figure you type in.
